Note that California Building codes are more restrictive than most of the rest of the country due to the seismic conditions of the west coast. All of the requirements for structural calculations by a California or Nevada licensed engineer will still apply as appropriate. Also local building departments may have requirements that may or may not be addressed in the plans.
