Custom Home Plans

Your Vision – Our Expertise

When changes to a ‘stock’ plan just won’t work and you want a truly unique, custom home, look to Design Basics for your design partner.

Home Builders

Nothing says more about you than the homes you build. Whether you are a production, semi-custom, or custom home builder, Design Basics has a solution for your project or your client.

Design = Marketing
To be successful, you need home designs that are different…and better. Designs that intuitively connect with today’s buyers. Designs that lead your marketplace, combining the practical and the aesthetic. Increased livability and style. Designs that get people talking, get people excited, and get people coming back. Superior design establishes you as the leader, the innovator, and the preeminent builder!

Design = Sales
Some builders compete based on lowest cost per square foot. While price and cost to build are always important design considerations, the majority of home buyers in every market are NOT choosing the lowest cost per square foot builder. Rather, they’re buying the home they really want. Whether we’re working with you on a custom home or designing an entire neighborhood, our experience with builders and home buyers across the nation means you’re tapping into the hottest design concepts—even before they’re recognized as tomorrow’s trends!

Design = Profitability
Design has a great impact on the profitability of the homes you build. Sure, great design sells more homes, but value engineering and superb “buildability” ensure that when you select to custom design with us, not only will you sell more homes, the homes will be cost-effective, too.

Home Owners

It’s all about livability and your style…
Great house design is evident in many ways. It may start with strong curb appeal and an attractive elevation, but day in and day out, it’s the home’s livability—it’s suitability for you and your household—that you’ll truly appreciate. So, how do you want your home to live? In particular, how do you like to entertain? How important are flex spaces? How do you like to de-stress at home? And what storage and organization amenities are important to you?

We’ve developed a fun, interactive, online quiz that helps identify your new home personality. We call it Finally About Me®. Knowing your personality correlates highly with knowing what you would love to have in your home. Even design features you may have never considered. Take the quiz now and discover your persona.

Thanks again Design Basics for committing our family’s vision to paper and blueprints. Thus we were able to realize our dream. Family, friends, and neighbors have commented positively on the layout of the rooms and the effective use of space. I built it as a place all the family could come to, to be together. As that vision, it is a smashing success.
