Wider Doorways
If you've ever been hobbled with a broken leg, tried moving large furniture, or you use a wheelchair or an electric mobility device, then you've likely experienced the frustration of those skinny 24- to 28-inch-wide interior passage doors. Our new plans are designed with 32-inch-wide doors as our standard, which also contribute to a feeling of spaciousness in the home.
Rear Foyer Entries from the Garage
Nine times out of ten, you enter and exit your home through its attached garage. Just as the front entry foyer is something special, in new home plans we pay just as much attention to the design of this very important transition space!
Value Engineered
Balancing livability and aesthetics with costs is the goal of value engineering. Most of our new home plans are value-engineered, utilizing standard-size building materials, minimal foundation jogs, streamlined structural systems, and other measures contributing to affordability without sacrificing style.

How Much Does a New House Plan Cost?

What Options Are Available for New Home Plans?
Alternate foundations (basement, crawl space, or slab on grade), exterior wall framing (2x4 or 2x6), and reverse plans (e.g. as shown the garage is on the left but you need the plan with the garage on the right) are all available for an additional fee.
Can New Floor Plans Be Customized?
Yes! All of our available floor plans are able to be customized with the amenities and features you're looking for. With Design Basics' new home plans, you're able to build a home that's perfect for you and your family.
