EDITOR OF NEW PUBLICATION FEELS RIGHT AT HOME
OMAHA, NE, (Semptember, 2003) - “I realize new business
ventures are risky in the midst of a stuttering economy,” says
Linda Reimer, editor of a brand-new magazine titled Her Home. “But
I’m really not worried.
First of all, the magazine is about homebuilding -- one of the few
industries which has continued to thrive the last few years. Secondly,
there aren’t any other publications to compete with it because
Her Home is the first consumer publication about homebuilding aimed
at women.”
“It’s somewhat surprising a similar magazine hasn’t
been done before,” Reimer continues, “considering research
indicates 80% of decisions made in the homebuilding process are made
by women.
“Millions of women dream about building their ideal home,
but those who actually embark on the venture are often overwhelmed
by the endless decisions. And too often they have some regrets over
things they wish had been done differently after the home is completed.
The main purpose of Her Home is to provide practical information
during the dreaming and planning stage so women won’t be saying, ‘If
I’d only known…’ in the final stage.”
Unlike home decorating magazines, Her Home focuses on women’s
perspectives on design, construction and products for the home and
includes input from leading women homebuilders and industry experts.
The magazine is published by Design Basics Inc., one of the largest
home plan design companies in the United States. It is distributed
through builders and subscriptions. A free Internet version of the
premier issue is also available at HerHomeMagazine.com
