Hippies and Hipsters: Designing for a Two-sided
Coin
Date: Thursday, February 9
Time: 3:30 - 5:00 pm
Location: West 307 C-D
Description:
During the next 10 years, we'll
be building homes for two big market segments: Baby-boomers (hippies)
and Millennials
(hipsters). With approximately 80 million baby boomers and another
80 million Americans born between 1977 and 1994, these are two
massive generational markets of homebuyers. You would expect
lots of differences in what these buyer groups want in a home -
and
there are - but you may be surprised at the number of similarities
as well.
Learning Outcomes:
Get insights into the emerging 'hourglass' demographics for the coming decade, and learn how to position your company to take advantage of the opportunity it presents.
Learn how to plan a versatile neighborhood that serves two big market segments at the same time, broadening the reach and price points of your community.
See how to create and present land plans and housing products that serve these two markets, both independently and together.
Acquire creative strategies for planning and marketing mixed-generation neighborhoods so that you can capitalize on the multiplier effect for traffic generation and sales velocity.
Fee:
IBS education sessions are available on a first-come, first served basis to Full Registrants and those who purchase a One or Two-Day Education with Exhibits Registration
